
This exhibition introduces the life and works of Taiwan’s famous sword-making master Mr. Tian-yang Chen to pay tribute to the master's style by understanding the history of the master's sword casting and enjoy the beauty of the sword by appreciating the carvers of the works. The weapons transferred from the former martial arts center of our school to the sports museum are checked and sorted out, classified and introduced by their appearances and characteristics to understand the ancient society and the ingenuity and wisdom of the inventions of the predecessors, and to recreate the elegance of martial arts weapons.
The exhibition is divided into 2 major units. Unit 1 “Art of Swords and Knives” begins with the first time when Taiwan’s sword casting master Mr. Tian-yang Chen got involved in sword casting. Then with his sword-making process, he wrote the book and created the “Qingyun Art Museum of Sword Casting” etc. Some swords and knives made by Mr. Chen are introduced to elaborate on the origin and meaning of the swords, so that the audience can appreciate the sword philosophy, and pay tribute to the extraordinary artistic style of the sword.
